A nice manual is included with this kit and I promise you it’s needed. Take an hour at least to play around and mount this cooler on. The manual is easy to understand and gives you the help you need to be able to mount this cooler onto your video card.

The fan here is an option if you want to have an extra fan cooling the heatsinks. This fan is quiet and is made so you can easily mount it on to the heatsink. As we can see on the right picture the backside shows you how easily you can mount this fan on to the cooler.

The fan comes with a multi connector from Zalman. This multiconnector is really good to have at all times. Quote from Zalman about the multiconnector: “The Multi-connector, included free in every Zalman power supplys +5V or +12V pwer to any additionall fans that a user may with to install. Connect it to the power supply’s output connector and simply attach the fans to the 3-pin connectors at the other end. ” Wooah made in Korea :) Good stuff mAn! No really this fan is high quality and so is the fan grill. The fan is pretty noiseless if you run it in silent mode as we can see in the specifications below.

This is the backside of the fan and the little golden screws on the side is the ones you use to mount this fan onto the heatsink on the video card. It’s hard to show in pictures how this is supposed to be installed but here is a picture when we had half of the kit isntalled on the card. Remember to put a thin layer of thermal compound on the card. This is before smoothing it out so use a old credit card or something to get a smooth top of thermal compound on the heatsink.

Before buying this product I recommend that you have a look in your case if you have enough space since this takes up some space as we can see on the pictures.

Conclusion:

After testing this product for awhile and playing games with the kit installed we realized that this heatsink & fan combo provides good enough cooling even when playing games as Unreal Tournament, Quake 3 etc. The only hard part was the installation since there is tons of little gadgets to install but the manual provides good instructions so all you need is some time :) One more thing is that you better check if you got enough space in your computer for this product. Zalman has done it again and released a quiet solution. I’m just waiting for Zalman to release some cases so we can get a super quiet computer :) All in all we give this video card cooler 4 out of 5 and a recoemmendation for a great quiet solution.

Pros:

+ Quiet
+ Cools good
+ Great manual
+ Works for both ATI and Nvidia cards

Cons:

- Takes up PCI slots
- Hard to install if you are a n00b :)
