Finally a picture of the unit mounted, I would say that mounting is actually quite easy. You will have to remove the motherboard from the case though to be able to mount this thing, but I cannot say it’s hard to mount it. It takes up quite a bit of space and it weighs quite a bit also so be careful you decide to move the computer around.

Testing:

Intel P4 3,0 and 3,8 Ghz 800mhz
MSI 955X Platinum
Sapphire X300
Mushkin DDR2
Maxtor 80Gb 7200 RPM
OCZ Powerstream 520W

Idle temperatures were taken running windows and full temperatures were taken running SuperPi. Ambient temperature was 21 celsius during testing.

3,8 GHz stock speed:

At stock speeds we can see that there are no differences in temperature. The difference between the fans is 50 rpm and the heatsinks are excatly the same so it’s only the 50 rpm we have to remember. This is taken from the Zalman website so the fan information should be accurate.

As the numbers were so even we decided to overclock the processor a bit so we ran it at 4.1 GHz and we can clearly see that the temperature went up with with 1500 rpm I can understand why they went up. The difference under load is 1 degree celsius and the 50 rpm might actually do the difference under overclocking and full load.

Why they would make one for just S775 I don’t understand, maybe this one will be a bit cheaper due to less mounting parts etc.

4,1 GHz Overclocked:

Conclusion:
As I said I don’t really understand why they would release one specially for a Intel socket 775. The only reason I can see is to sell this one cheaper as it does not have all the parts for mounting. It’s the same heatsinks on both and the fan is a bit slower on this AT one but they have pretty much the same performance. We have all seen the awards this type of cooler has won and I don’t think I have to say anymore about this really. Zalman has made it again by making a very good high quality cooler a bit cheaper for the socket 775 platform. I want to give this 5 out of 5 and our editors choice award.

Pros:

+ Good performance
+ Quiet
+ Easy to mount
+ Good instructions
+ Well packed

Cons:

- Big
