The pad itself is black and has a blue frame all around it. It has a plastic cover which does not feel like plastic; it’s more like a frabric and plastic mix. You can switch side on it as you have a smooth side and a rough side for whichever you prefer.

The back on this pad is covered by these small rubber pads. There’s actually 10 in total and they do work very good. I cannot move the pad around at all with my hands if I don’t lift it up a little. On the right picture we have a closer look on a rubber pad and above it we see a hole and that’s where you can mount the mouse cord clip which I will show you in the next picture.

A nice Thunder8 logo in the top right corner, and we can clearly see that this pad is smaller than the Aqua pad but it’s smoother and nice to use overall. The pad does not take up the whole table either and the pad does not bend.

Here we the mouseclip I talked about earlier just clip it on to the top of the pad and it works nice. You don’t need a separate mousebungee or something else to hold the cord as it’s just clipped on the pad itself.

Testing:

Well it’s nice to test out some new mousepads and maybe even make a change now and then. The Thunder8 pad might be my next choice as the Qpad is starting to run on its last days. The Thunder pad is just perfect to surf on since it’s almost a mixture of a Func and my Qpad right now. Put on some of those mouse skatez that are included and you have a good gamimg and surfing mat. Aqua3 pad is fabric so you can expect it to be a little rougher but it works very good still and it sure does have the size for a gamer.

Conclusion: Thunder8 gets our recommendations and 5 out of 5 without any dicsussions. Its plastic but feels like a combination of plastic and cloth. You have superb glide on it and every gamer will love this pad. The Aqua3 on the other hand gets 4 out of 5 for a great pad which really has some size to it but it’s fabric and it’s rougher to use and it might be a little to big for most computer tables out there. Overall very good pads from Xraypad and im glad I had a chance to review them so if you see one of them somewhere take the chance and feel them and maybe get a couple?
