By pulling up the cover you will uncover the USB port. Plug it into your system and you will have a wireless network card through your USB port, running at max 54Mbps.
If you on the other hand just push on the button on top and hold it in for about 5 seconds the device will trace all wireless connections available within its reach. When the middle led lights up there are no wireless networks around but if you get the top one you have a secured network around you or a unsecure if the bottom one lights up. The small pictures on the device explain it quite well.

Not much to say here, around the house I found several wireless connections and I could confirm it with my laptop even though the device has a longer reach than my wireless PCMCIA card. I also did some testing around the neighbourhood driving around and trying to find some wifi networks, and it did find them.

After installing the software and starting the program you will get a small icon down by the clock in windows. It looks like an X and when you have the usb wifi card plugged in you can doubleclick on it and you will get up this screen that tells you signal strength etc, you can also click on more settings and that will open up a new window with several different settings. The white box will show available networks around you.
Sisoft Sandra 2007 has some new nice features like showing information about network adapters. It allows you to see information about it such as: speed, type, IP number and many other things. If you have bought the full version it will also allow you to test the device and see how it performs if you have some issues with it. I have done some tests to it and I have not found any specific issues with this device, it is rock stable. I have had issues with USB wifi cards before but this works perfect for me. All I had to do was to install the software and plug in the device and it cherges itself through usb and also sets itself up automatically for your convinience.
Conclusion:
I don’t know where to start, this is a unique product to say the least. You get two products in one small product the size of a cigarette lighter. I see several reasons why you should have a wifi tracker, one is if you travel alot, you can scan airports for wifi connections for example. Having a usb wifi card also helps you to connect to the networks you find. This saves space and make it so much easier for you. X-Micro have really made a good product, it’s rock stable and it’s very easy to install and on top of it the reach of it is alot better than my PCMCIA cards for example. The only thing I can complain about this far is that there is no keychain ring to hang it on your keychain, so it’s quite easy to lose or to misplace.
Pros:
+ Easy to use
+ Two in one
+ Stable wifi
+ Well packed
+ Easy to install
Cons:
- No keychain ring
