Conclusion
This is also from the kitchen but it’s by our microwave which is about 15 meters from the router and it has 2 thick solid brick walls between the router and the laptop. We can see that we did not loose to much of the connection even though we have a few walls between. The old router could transfer at rates of 274 kb/s but this new faster one pushed out 2204 kb/s which is pretty amazing!
This in in the entryway to our apartment building. It’s one floor down and it’s about 40 meters from the router location. Between the router and the laptop we have about 6 solid brick walls. 2338 kb/s is amazing speeds if you check how many walls it goes through… This is great if you want to have wireless internet between two apartments…
Transfer speeds:
Transfering a 750 mb file took about 35 min with the older slower router and with this new one we could transfer the file in about 5 minutes so there is a HUGE difference. 5 minues is not painful at all so this is a very fast router, PCMCIA combo which works great together. These have to be bought separate but still 
Software:
The setup program is very big and offers alot of settings. I chose this screenshot since it shows where you can set the antenna strength and turbo modes for the router. The possibility to set the antenna power is great so you can prevent people from using your WLAN that is not in your household. Below that we see the super G mode which speeds up the router a little All testing was done in 11G enabled and SuperG with Turbo.
Conclusion:
This router and PCMCIA card has what the other router was missing. You get fast transfer speeds on your network which we did not get but with this new tehcnology you get 6 times faster and ontop of that you get all this is very easy to use. The router is a bit bigger but it does not make any noise as the other had a problem with. 11G is something that I do really enjoy and it’s hard to find any errors or cons on these products. You get a very good manual even though the setup is very easy to navigate in and use. Everything was well packed also. We give this 5 out of 5 and our recommendations for a fast router and PCMCIA card.
