When used the Apex has a red led shining. Maybe I should mod a blue one in instead?
As we see the Apex is smaller than most of the USB drives I have but it’s a little thicker though… What makes it thicker is the clip on the back- maybe they should have constructed it as Msystems has done with theirs. Msystems starts the clip from the top of the player and not in the middle of the player as with the Apex.

On the right side of the drive there is a write protect switch so you don’t have to worry about overwriting or deleting your data. On the right picture we can see a strap that is included if you want to carry it around your neck or something.
Testing:
Testing was done on this rig:
AMD Xp 2200+
Soyo KT400 Ultra Dragon Platinum
512 mb DDR ram
Geforce 3 Ti200
Soundblaster Audigy
40 gig Maxtor
Aopen case
Watercooling

As we can see this drive rox- it’s faster than all other USB2 devices listed in the test.
With this next graph I wanted to show you the difference in USB1 and USB2. The comparison was done against the fastest USB 1 drive I have tested.

As we see the USB2 drive is alot faster which leads more and more people will start buying these drives… This drive is fast and it’s small and really worth to have a look at when you are in the market for one of these.
Conclusion:
My conclusion is that this drive is really fast! It’s small and looks good and is also easy to use. I really do recommend this drive for it’s good looks and fast speed. The price does not make the choice harder either since its around 75$ for a 128mb drive. All the accessories are also a good addition. I have only found one thing that could be complained about- and that is the thickness of the product. The drive is also backward compatible and works with old USB 1 motherboards ofcourse. All in all we recommend this drive and give it 5 out of 5
Pros:
+ Good looking
+ Cheap
+ Available in many sizes
+ FAST!
