ntroduction

About a year ago, we took a look at the Vizo Ninja Notebook Cooler, where we concluded that it was a decent cooler but was a little undersized for many of todays notebook designs.Perhaps Vizo was listening, as they have since developed a larger version of this cooler design. Will the Vizo Ninja 2 Notebook Cooler perform as well as its smaller brother? We will attempt to answer that question in this review.

The Vizo Ninja 2 Notebook cooler arrived in a sturdy, well-packaged box with a nice picture of the cooler on the front. The back of the package has a detailed list of features and specifications. Our sample came in nice black finish; Vizo also offers the cooler in a gray color.Having seen both, I prefer the black finish.

Opening up the package, the cooler is securely held in-place by a two custom foam inserts.Along with the cooler, the package comes with a power cable with a USB connector. No instruction manual needed.

Taking a closer look at the cooler, there are two 70mm fans that provide the airflow for the cooler. The cooler has a nice, light-weight aluminum design that is good for thermal conductivity. The power switch and connector is located on the rear of the cooler for easy access. As we noted in the previous review, the only feature that is absent from this cooler is additional USB expansion ports built into the cooler itself, which is a handy feature especially but would likely drive the price upwards.Thankfully, the USB power cable with this cooler has an additional USB connector, which lets you still use the occupied USB connector for another device.

After flipping the easily accessible power switch, I once again found that the notebook cooler wasnt as quiet as a ninja, as this cooler uses the same fans as the previously reviewed Ninja.Due to the small fans used on the cooler, you can definitely hear the cooler fans whirl, though they arent as loud as the notebooks fans.On a good note, I really liked the ergonomic angle at which the cooler elevated the notebook; typing felt more natural. However, after using it for a while, I think I would have liked to have seen an adjustable height setting.
