Unfortunately, the mini-Ninja doesnt come with a power switch to turn off the fans, which was surprising to me.The cable is located on the side of the cooler for easy access but not necessarily the cleanest routing. As we noted in the previous review, the only feature that is absent from this cooler is additional USB expansion ports built into the cooler itself, which is a handy feature especially but would likely drive the price upwards.Thankfully, the USB power cable with this cooler has an additional USB connector, which lets you still use the occupied USB connector for another device.

As expected, there is no installation involved in this cooler; simply set it on the table and plunk your notebook onto of it.The first notebook I sat on the cooler was a Acer Aspire 5700Z notebook, measuring in at 15.4.As you can see, the notebook cooler fits perfectly with this size of notebook. After plugging in the USB cable to power the fans, I was fairly impressed with the sound quality of this particular cooler, mainly due to the fact that I was able to move the fans closer towards the center which I think helped muffle the sound.Due to the small fans used on the cooler, you can definitely hear the cooler fans whirl, though they arent as loud as the notebooks fans.On a good note, I really liked the ergonomic angle at which the cooler elevated the notebook; typing felt more natural. However, after using it for a while, I think I would have liked to have seen an adjustable height setting.
I didnt measure any appreciable difference in CPU or video card temperature with the cooler, though I did notice a reduced amount of CPU fan on-time, indicating that the cooler was making a difference.
Conclusion:
The Vizo mini-Ninja Notebook cooler is a simple yet effective notebook cooler that gets the job done. Its very easy to set up and use, and the adjustable fan position adds to the versatility of the product. While I did notice a couple of nits such as the lack of a power switch and no height adjustment, overall I was satisfied with the design of the cooler. In this case, good things do come in small packages.
Pros:
+ Good ergonomic angle
+ Noticeable cooling performance
+ Lightweight, aluminum construction
+ Small form factor
Cons:
- No additional USB ports
- Height not adjustable
- No power switch
