In the back of the base unit you connect the power cable, usb, and line in cables. The base unit it held in place on the table by four rubber pads on the bottom. The phone itself is very small as it fits into my hand that is not that big. The buttons are plastic and they have a silver color along with the silver casing around the display itself.

The batteries are mounted in the back of the phone after removing the battery cover. The phone weighs about half of my Logitech Mx1000 mouse. The display lights up when using it and the numbers and letters are very clear and easy to see.

This is the standard menu, it also says online as soon as your Skype is online or away for example when you are not using the computer. It also has a battery indicator and I have not yet determined the battery time but around 8 hours talk time seems possible thus far and after a few charges the time will probably boost a bit more. The grey phone is my normal phone on the normal phoneline and as we can see this is a similar product except you can use VOIP with it.

Testing:

My wife is the one that has actually taken the time to test out this phone. Previously we had a Skype approved Olympia phone which was bulkier and older in general. Anyway she calls her parents in USA so there is quite a distance from Sweden to US that we have tested this phone on. The first thing we noticed was the really clear sound on this phone, it sounds like you sit on the normal phoneline. With a headset or a older Skype phone you usually get small cuts in the sound or delays somehow but after several hours of talking on this phone we were really shocked with the performance. Version 1 was a bit slow but the 1.3 version removed cpu and memory loads and also got us a crystal clear sound. Batterywise this phone is very good I have to admit, over 8 hours talktime is not a problem here and we were even able to talk for about 45 min on the first charge that the battiers were charged with when we got the phone itself.

Conclusion:

I admit this phone really saves money and still gives you features that you a year ago could just dream about. I payed about 100$ USD for this and that money I save in within 2 months without any problems. It’s a high quality phone there is no doubt about it. Battery time is amazing and the sound quality when you talk even from the other side of the apartment is amazing. You can walk down to the laundry room (80 meters) and still have amazing connection through brick and cement walls. By combining the normal phone and VOIP you save money when you just need to buy one phone which can do it all and still deliver crystal clear sounds. We want to give this our highest award 5 out of 5 and our editors choice award for outstanding sound quality and high quality. Check out our VOIP article we wrote a couple of months ago also.
