HD Tune puts the average transfer rate around 23 MB/sec, with a maximum speed just below the advertised 30MB/sec.  The access time of 0.7ms is acceptible, and the CPU usage is low at 1%.

Flash Memory Toolkit’s low level benchmark gets similar results, with the average transfer rate of 22 MB/s read, but the speeds still fall short of the advertised specifications.

The Flash Memory Toolkit file benchmark is a little more informative, and it shows how speed gradually increases alongside the file size.  Overall, the speeds are acceptable, and a large flash drive such as this is expected to do better with larger files.

The 32GB Pico C does well is the Sisoftware Sandra benchmark as well, coming in second place overall.  Of the drives tested, Super Talent’s really stands out in the 2MB and 64MBtransfers, where it leads the pack.

In the WinRAR test it takes the drive 5 minutes and 41 seconds to compress a 700MB file.

Conclusion:

This small, good looking drive is a great piece of hardware with impressive overall performance.  The stylish and sleek device stays small and portable, while still remaining accessible.  It really excels at transferring and storing large file sizes, but handles smaller sizes acceptably as well.  The test results show that size isn’t everything, though, since it still packs a performance punch underneath the pretty exterior.  The encryption software adds an extra level of protection against data theft, but still remains simple and easy to use.  If only the keychain were long enough so that you could wear the flash drive as a fashion accessory around your wrist or neck when it’s not in use.  The retail price of $79 is pretty reasonable for a high capacity flash drive, and makes it one of the best in it’s class.

Pros:

+Compact and prtable
+Shiny!
+Easy to use encryption tool
+Impressive performance

Cons:

-Short keychain
