Both the mic and headphone cable are equipped with extension cables when you get the headset, if you feel they are to long just bunch them up with zip ties or unplug the extension cables.

The little mic/volume controller is placed about 30 cm below on the cable, if I remember correctly the old version also had a mic hanging around that height but it is now built into the headphone. The little controller though mutes the mic and controlls the volume of the headphones.

Something I really miss is a sleeved cable, it protects vs so many things especially since this cable is quite thin.

Design wise the headphones are pretty much the same as its older brother. The centerband seems a bit softer and the headphones feel better on the head although the older version felt awesome even after hours.

The ear pads are very comfortable and they don’t push on your ears even after hours of gaming. They are actually softer than on the older V1 headset.

Conclusion:

Something I lack on these headphones is a treble, the bass is fine but the treble is quite low. I have compared vs Mionix and Sennheiser headphones and they both have a much louder treble. It can be fixed with the mixer in Windows so it is not a major problem.

The mic is high quality and is able to deliver a high quality sound even on Ventrilo and Skype.  I like the fact that you can actually hide the mic when you don’t use it, this is a huge upgrade from the older version.

The cable is VERY long which is good in my eyes and you can unhook the extension cables for both the mic and headphones whenever you want to. I wish the cable would be sleeved though to protect it when it gets rolled over or bitten by animals or kids.

Overall the sound is very crisp and clear but a well balanced bass but as I said at stock settings it lacks some treble. They are very comfortable and I really like the upgrades they have made on the headset. You can pick this headset up for around 65-70$ which is around what the competitors offer.

Pros:
+ Comfortable
+ Long cord
+ Build in mic
+ Good size
+ Nice bass

Cons:
- Low treble
- Cord not sleeved

the “game” setting is used when gaming on the xbox or ps3, and since on the consoles the headset is forced to use its built-in sound card, there is a faint hissing when using it, which is why i presume you said it was awful… when using on the pc just keep it on “pc” mode
