Silverstone SST-30NF power supply

Tonite we will have a very interesting review for you. Silverstone sent us their latest fanless power supply. This will be interesting to see how hot and how well this power supply will perform under load and while idle. We will test this quite heavily to see if it can still perform well while under pressure; so stay tuned.

The box is the standard box that Silverstone sends out. It’s grey and black and has some specifications on it and the name of the product. Included with the power supply is an extra bracket if it won’t fit, and also a manual that is very informative by explaining everything well, and of course the power cable.

25A on 5v and 18A on the 12 volt rail seems like pretty good specifications so this will be very interesting to see what we can measure the voltage to.

As this power supply is fanless they have opened up air holes around the hole power supply as we can see on these pictures. On the right picture you can see two leds which are green when the power supply is on. One shows that the power supply is active and the other shows the temperature which I believe may get yellow or red when the power supply gets overheated. I was not able to get this to happen even after running it for awhile under load.

Here we see the lds closeup. You don’t have a switch for 110 or 220V so you can run this without worrying about switching it over for your preference. On the right picture we have the power cables for P4 and the ATX cable.
