The headphones can be rezised so they fit your head. The ear pads are made of foam and fits perfect on probably most ears. The headphones are not closed and on the outside a small grill is mounted to give better looks.

We can see that a foam pad is also mounted on the top of the headphones so they almost rest on your head. I have to say that after using these for awhile I found them to be the most comfortable headphones that I have used. The weight of the headphones is 260 grams without the cord so they are not bad weight wise either, and with the cord I cannot feel any difference.

Testing:

So I have used these headphones for about a month now and I have used them with listening to music, playing wow, and other games. I have also used them with voice communication software like Skype, Ventrilo, Teamspeak etc and in all these programs I have been amazed with the clear sound and deep bass that the headphones has been able to boost out. They don’t require so much juice either as small mp3 players have been able to run these headphones without any problems even with as low as 12mW. I even had the “pleasure” of changing the cord to the headphones as my cat ‘Gracie’ chewed the it. I found a guide on their website and it took me about 5 min to change the cord and it was very easy with the guide. These headphones with the combo of Soundblaster X-fi cards sound great, I doubt you can find better headphones for the price of these and I understand why these are compared to studio headphones. Sennheiser also claims that there is a THD, total harmonic distortion

Conclusion:

I think I said most of what I had to say during the testing phase but I can conclude this with saying that I doubt there are any better headphones for under 150$USD out there on the market right now. You get superb sound with this even if you just use a small mp3 player or any other electronic device. I have had Sennheiser before and I know that they make quality products and this is no different from the older headphones, you can really trust these and also trust their support. It was extremely well packed and there are guides to change cords and guides to the headphones on their website also. I want to give these 5 out of 5 and our editors choice award for superb sound from a pair of extremely comfortable headphones. It takes a few days to “play in” the headphones by the way :)

Pros:

+ Comfortable
+ Excellent sound
+ Well packed
+ Changable parts
+ Good price
+ Long cord

Cons:

- None this far

the “game” setting is used when gaming on the xbox or ps3, and since on the consoles the headset is forced to use its built-in sound card, there is a faint hissing when using it, which is why i presume you said it was awful… when using on the pc just keep it on “pc” mode
