Testing

Testing:

Intel P4 3,8 Ghz 800mhz
MSI 955X Platinum
Albatron 6600 512 mb
Mushkin DDR2
Maxtor 80Gb 7200 RPM
OCZ Powerstream 520W

Testing was done by running the following software, 3dmark2003, 3dmark2005, Farcry, Doom 3, Battlefield 2, Ut2004 and Call of Duty 2. Overclocking was done with the powerful Rivatuner software version v2.0 RC 15,8.

3dmark2005 is still the best software to benchmark with compared to the 2006 version in my opinion as the new 2006 version is optimized for the newer cards on the market. Here we can see though that its “only” 3000 points difference compared ot the X850 card.

Activating anti aliasing usually kills most cards on the market but with this card you only got a 400 point drop which is quite amazing. We can see that the other cards drop quite a bit even though that the X1600 with 256 Mb is able to still perform quite well.

3dmark is a good tool but does not say much for the normal gamer so therefore we have some gaming benchmarks also to share with you so you can build your own opinion about this cards performance.
