Testing & conclusion

Tests were performed using following setup:

TP-Link 16-port gigabit switch
IBM Thinkpad T60 laptop
Raidsonic IB-NAS6210

Raidsonic IB-NAS6210

As we can see from the graph, the IB-NAS6210 is performs quite well in the 10/100 network. Both download and upload speeds are 10MB/s which is the maximum you can get in the 100Mb network. In gigabit network IB-NAS6210 upload speeds (from computer to NAS) are around 40M/s and download speeds 45M/s. These are good speeds considering many other similar priced NAS-devices only perform around 30M/s.

To be honest, I’ve been quite impressed with the performance IB-NAS6210 has offered in our tests. Undoubtedly it’s not for everyone though. Without premium subscription (which has a monthly fee) you can only add three users to the device, and having limited configuration options due the lack of SSH access. It is perfectly suitable for home use, but even in smallest offices it might not be enough. I could recommend this product to anyone who thinks the features it has to provide are enough.

+ Good transfer speeds
+ Easy to use

– Lack of SSH access
– Configuration requires internet access
