This feature gives you the possibility to change the laser a bit when writing so you can get better sound quality. Read the full info sheet here.
Scratch test:
We took one of the burned Warcraft 3 copies and scratched it up pretty bad with a screwdriver to make a scratch test. We pushed the cd in and the Plextor drive did not have a problem reading the cd at all even though we made the scratches with a screwdriver.
Conclusion:
As we can see this is a really nice drive. Its the fastest SCSI drive out there to this date. SCSI cost a bit more but also performs after the cost. This drive is really high quality and offers alot to you. They also send you empty cdr and cdrw along with a Nero 5 cd so you don’t have to worry about buying a program. After using this drive for awhile I have seen it is very reliable and very stable and I have not had any problems with it during installation or usage. The features called Powerec and Varirec are really nice and quite useful if you have problems with a cd that cannot play in a cd player. You have to simply try these features to solve the problem. The bad thing about this burner is the price since a SCSI cannot compete with a IDE in price, but there is always people that prefer SCSI so this is probably the best buy for them. The burner is available in black also to match the black cases that are out on the market. We give this burner 4 out of 5 for a realiable high quality burner with some new features that makes it even easier and better for you to burn cds.

+ Available in black
+ Includes software
+ Fast!
+ High quality
+ New features as Powerec and Varirec
