Conclusion

Testing:

Intel P4 3,8 Ghz 800mhz
MSI 955X Platinum
MSI 7800 GTX
A-data DDR2
Maxtor 80Gb 7200 RPM
OCZ Powerstream 520W

We ran Pcmark2005 loops to be able to get load voltages. The voltages were taken by measuring with a multimeter. The product will be compared vs the older Powerstream 520W and the Coolermaster RS 550W ACLY.

12V:

We had some stability issues with the unit also as with the Coolermaster power supply we tested earlier. The older Powerstream was rock stable under full load and we find it odd that this one does not have the same features.

Conclusion:

Well there was some issues with the rails and getting stable voltages as you have seen during the testing phase. I would like to point out though that even though the rails are not rock stable there are no stability issues at all with the power supply. It’s a high quality product no doubt about it, but it has some minor flaws as we already pointed out. Something good that I also want to point out is their Powerswap replacement program so you don’t have to wait for the unit to get repaired as they just swap them out if needed. The fan then? Well I have reviewed quieter power supplies and this one is a bit louder than the Powerstream and the Modstream to be honest but when mounted in a case it’s not something you will notice to bad. I want to give this product 4 out of 5 for a very nice power supply that has a few flaws but I’m certain that if OCZ fixes these they will have a new winner on their hands.Pros:

+ Stable
+ Nice looking
+ Powerswap program
+ OCZ high quality
+ Well packed

Cons:

- Noise
- Unstable rails
