Conclusion
Today we will be sharing our latest thoughts about the new ram released by OCZ awhile back. We got their new Gold GX gamer memory with low latency and of course high overclocking capabilities as usual when it comes to their memory. We have tested this product vs some other OCZ memory to see how they can perform in normal usage and under overclocking so stay tuned for this new memory review.
SuperPi:

The Ballistix has performed well against the GX kit but still not good enough and this final test also shows it by having the lowest time on the 8M test in Superpi.
Overclocking:
This memory performed decent in overclocking as we were able to run it at 250FSB with 3.1V and stock latency settings. We had to start tweaking right after 235FSB already and boost the voltage a bit. Latency wise we were not able to lower in much without losing stability but with the stock latency being so low already we cannot complain at all. We used a fan to cool of the ram with during overclocking so that is what we recommend also if you plan in pushing these sticks to any higher FSB settings.
Conclusion:
Well this memory kit really performs well in stock speeds, since it runs on so low latency settings it out performs the others in our testing, this really shows also that low latecny is needed and why overclocking is used by so many. I have nothing really to complain about except that the overclocking could have gone a bit higher but I mean it’s nothing really I can complain about with 250 FSB. It was well packed and with the lifetime warranty on these sticks they are a great investment at this time as you get great performance and stability for a small amount of money compared to if you have to keep changing ram from time to time due to poor performance. Overall we give this 5 out of 5 and our recommndations for a great performing fast ram kit.
Pros:
+ Fast at stock speeds
+ Well packed
+ Lifetime warranty
+ Allows overcloking without voiding warranty
+ Nice heatsinks
Cons:
- Could have overclocked a bit better
