It was awhile ago that we looked at a product from Noctua. Today we are back to look at their latest NH-C14 cpu cooler that is a big cpu cooler with some nice features that should prove to be quite decent to help cool the cpu. How well does it perform? We are going to compare it vs the NH-D14 which is a older cooler from Noctua but still top of the line on the market.

The NH-C14’s six heatpipe c-type design allows for superb quiet cooling performance while maintaining a much lower profile than today’s tower-style coolers and providing excellent airflow over RAM modules and near-socket mainboard components.
p14 Dual NF-P14 FLX fans
The NH-C14 comes with two of Noctua’s award-winning, premium quality NF-P14 140mm fans that can be fine-tuned according to the user’s needs via the supplied Low-Noise (L.N.A.) and Ultra-Low-Noise Adaptors (U.L.N.A.).
low Low Profile Mode
Run with a single NF-P14 fan underneath the fin stack and with the top fan removed, the NH-C14 measures only 105mm in height, which makes it ideal for use in smaller enclosures and HTPC applications.
clearance High Clearance Mode
The lower NF-P14 fan can be removed in order to provide additional clearance for chipset coolers or RAM modules with tall heat-spreaders. Run with a single fan on top, the NH-C14 provides a full 65mm of clearance.

NT-H1 Noctua NT-H1 high-end thermal compound
Noctua’s much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a well proven pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance, excellent ease-of-use and outstanding reliability.
This cooler comes packed as the D14 does. A large picture on the box reveals the design, and you can also read about some of its features and specifications.
Inside you will find manual for installation on both AMD and Intel plattforms, and each mounting kit is marked clearly with Intel or AMD kit. There is also a bag with “common parts” that work for both setups.
The heatsink is mounted to the base of the heatsink with six heatpipes, and both the top and bottom is mounted with 140 mm fans. Included with the heatsink is RPM controllers that you hook up between the fan and motherboard and this way you make them even more silent than they are.
