The Minonix software is very logical and easy to work with, it has five tabs which brings up various menus. The first is the normal “mouse settings” menu where you can setup what the buttons should do, pointer, double click, and scroll speeds.

Sensor performance is another important section of the menus and here you can set lift distance, and specific DPI settings for the Axis. Here they have also put in a surface quality analyzer which shows how good your mousepad works with the mouse.

The “color settings” tab is the third tab you will find and this allows you to set the LED color on the mouse as I talked about earlier. By changing color you change color on all the LEDs or you can turn them off also.

In the “macro settings” you can create macros for the mouse, the last “support” tab allows you to easily check for the latest software and firmware for the mouse.

Testing:

Windows has a default 125MHz USB sample in Vista so we unlcoked this and ran a test with mouserate checker. The Steelseries Xai had a average rate of 960Hz and this new Mionix mouse has 975Hz with tops at 1050Hz.

Overall I feel that this mouse is very comfortable for normal use and also for gaming, the settings it allows you to chage make it a perfect gamer mouse and lets not forget the weights which allow Mionix to sell this mouse to a broader market since you can customize it better.

Unpacking:

Conclusion:

This mouse is excellent, it is very comfortable and it is one of the faster mice response wise that I have tested so far. Design wise it’s made to fit both big and small hands. After using it for a week I can for sure say it works both for normal daily usage and top FPS gaming.

The software allows you to change alot of settings which makes it a good mouse for both casuals and gamers, the weights add another customization feature. Being able to add weights on both sides of the mouse makes it more usable than other mice on the market up to date.

The mouse sells for around 70$ which is around what most competitors charge for their mice right now so this should really be one of your main choices.

What about cons? I only found one that is barely worth mentioning, but the right button seems to be a bit more loose than the left one. Say you got a bit of sticky or sweaty finger and you move your finger of the right mousebutton it sticks on to your finger and lifts up around 4 millimeters. This is something the left button doesn’t do so it could be a possible mistake in design? Overall though this is a mouse that I really can and feel good about recommending.

Pros:
+ Comfortable
+ Customizable
+ Sleeved cable
+ Fast
+ Good software

Cons:
- Right button is loose
