Inside the case I found a box with some accessories we are going to look at very soon.

This mounting bracket in the midle of the case holds drives therefore there are no specific slots for the drives. The material is very solid so there are no vibrations from either the harddrives or dvd units.

Inside the case you will find a big nest of cables, you will for example have the front ports to connect, ATX adapter, and some USB powered connectors. In the back there is only two cables, the fan cable and the monitor cable as desribed earlier in the review. You can make the VGA cable longer by removing the PCI slot backplate and adjusting the length of the cable.

Inside the brown box I found a remote, batteries, and a small bag with various screws and mounting clips. The Media Lab cd has the software needed to run the touch screen so make sure to install that as soon as possible.

Videoclip/LCD:

We recorded the touch screen software to give you an idea of what is available to you if you buy the case. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U02ed_bllF8

This touchscreen is like any other dual screen setup, you can either clone or just extend your desktop to it or even run it as your only screen. During our testing we used it as the main screen and we had very nice reply both from touch and buttons.

Conclusion:

I recently reviewed the Thermaltake DH104 HTPC case which is a similar case with a 7 inch screen on the front, it was silent and very easy to install parts in. This Luxa2 case actually looks alot better than the Thermaltake case did and installation was also very easy. Noise wise I think that this Luxa2 case was actually a bit louder with stock fans although I changed to Noctua fans on both cases and they ended up being rock solid with no vibrations.

It is hard to say which of the cases is better since they both got superb functions but in my eyes the Luxa2 case is alot nicer looking and matches a home theather system much better, it is also a bit smaller which comes in handy. The aluminum case is very sturdy and can take quite a bit of beating. The LCD is actually is actually a bit easier to work with than on the DH104 from Thermaltake, the screen needs a lighter touch which means in the end its easier to work with even though the screen is smaller. I am very happy with this case, its a cool case with some cool functions and the only big “con” with it is the price, suggested price is about 599$ which is way more than most people tend to put into a case.

One thing that stays in my mind after this review is that I for sure want to take a look at more Luxa products in the future, it really has made a mark in my eyes.

Pros:
+ Very nice looking
+ Touch screen
+ Silent
+ High quality feeling
+ Space for big videocards

Cons:
- Price
