Software & Conclusion

The Software:

Kodak EasyShare M341 Introduction

We used the Kodak EasyShare software for Mac and the software seemed relatively easy to use. Upon opening the software it detected our camera and offered to move them to our computer. One things we were not big fans of was the fact that the software tried to do too much. This is typical for most camera manufacturers, unfortunately. We would have liked to see a simple software solution that allowed us to easily unload our pictures onto the computer and then use the software of our choice to view and edit. However the EasyShare software suite is required on the Mac to unload the pictures, and provides picture management tools, printing options, emailing options and a host of other features that complicate a seemingly easy task. These complaints aside the software managed to quickly move our pictures onto the computer, and after closing the application we proceeded to use our choice of editing tools.

Conclusion:

While the Kodak M341 does fall short in some areas, it more than makes up for them. Boasting more than 14 customizable settings (ISO Speeds and Shutter Speeds to name two) and a plethora of common preset combinations, this camera should provide most users with a entirely satisfactory experience for the price.

Verdict:

Buy

Pros:

+ Excellent color saturation and hues
+ Abundance of settings for a point-and-shoot camera
+ Information button for setting explanations

Cons:

- Over-complicated software
- Poor long-distance shots
