Testing and Conclusion
Testing:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
MSI P45 Platinum
2x2GB G.Skill DDR2 800
Gigabyte HD 4850
Western Digital WD6400AAKS
Samsung SH-S223F
2x80mm Scythe intake fans
120mm Noctua Exhaust fan

In this test, the XT-1264 is compared to a Sunbeamtech Core Contact freezer on a Q6600 CPU at stock frequency and voltage. Idle and load temperatures were each measured for 30 minutes with Speedfan v4.38. Idle temps were recorded at the windows desktop, load temps were taken after a quad-threaded blend test in prime95. The ambient temperature during each test was 25C. At Idle the Kingwin cooler bests the Sunbeamtech by 3C, but at load, the tempuratures spike higher and the sunbeamtech ends up being the cooler of the two.
Conclusion:
In all, the Kingwin XT-1264 is a well rounded kit. It performs admirably against the Sunmbeamtech Core Contact Freezer, but doesn’t compete well under load. Its ease of installation combined with its very quiet fan make it good package, but the lack of backplate in the installation package forces me to question the integrity of my motherboard. That, combined with the somewhat flimsly mounting clips for Intel hardware, drag down the package’s value and prevent me from feeling completely confident in the cooler.
Pros:
+ Decent performance
+ Relatively easy to install
+ Quiet
Cons:
- No backplate
- Finnicky mounting clips for Intel installations
