Microphone and headphone plugins are mounted on the front for easy access and beside them there are even pictures so you cannot plug them in wrong. There is also two USB ports and one firewire port mounted by the sound ports. Overall they make your computer usage alot easier as you don’t have to strecth back behind the computer, however you will have tons of cables running through your computer but that’s something you will have to learn to live with :) On the right picture we have the display which is actually pretty big and beside it the fan controller for the fan inside the panel. By pushing the button you switch temperature sensors and get their info on the display.

On each side of the panel we have four screw holes for mounting and as we can see on the right picture we have the fan mounted on the bottom of the panel so it sucks out the hot air from the harddrive. It is not to loud compared to the cpu cooler or harddrives.

Here we can see the back of the unit and a picture of it in action.

Testing:

We tested some transfer times with a USB2 128 mb drive and we came to the conclusion that all you lose is not even a second so having the ports in the front is something good and not something you lose performance on.

Conclusion:

This is a very nice high quality panel that you can mount in the front of your computer. It is high quality and it’s also a harddrive cooler so you get a HD cooler, USB, firewire, and sound ports in the front and not to forget a temperature controller to see up to 4 different temperatures. Installation was a piece of cake and the manual brings up everything you need to know if you get some problems so all in all we give this 5 out of 5 and our recommendations for the best 5.25 panel we have reviewed.

Pros:

+ Nice looking
+ Gives you alot of features
+ Good documentation
+ Well packed
+ HD cooler included

Cons:

- Display cant change color (not neccessary though just cosmetic)
