Conclusion

Menus:

Menus are very easy to navigate through and very logical. If you have hard time with these there is a pretty good manual at their homepage.

Sound output:

I tested all different kinds of music genres with my Sennheiser HD200 headphones. I am pretty amazed with this little unit that it can deliver so much output to be able to run a pair of studio headphones. I also tried it with Shure E2C which are pretty amazing little earplugs. Compared to the older Mp110 this product can really crank out some sound. It did not matter what music we choose as it still amazed us.

Acessories:

The headphones that are delivered with this unit are pretty BAD! your ears hurt after awhile and they don’t fit good at all. The neckstrap on the other hand is very nice since you can have it around your neck instead of in your pocket where it can easily get scratched or damaged.

Sound recording:

You can record sounds with this product. We tried recording 1 meter and 5 meters from the unit and we got ok sound both times. There is also a setting that is called VAD which gives you the possibility to choose to turn VAD on which only records sounds when it hears one. SO basically it automatically detects when someone is talking and then it records instead of recording all the time.

Features in general

FM transmitter is probably the biggest new feature with this player and it’s something I cannot look closer into because of Swedish laws. Small things like playlist, easy menus, voice recording etc gives this player a nice boost.

Conclusion:

To sum this up I can only say that I really hope that this player will go worldwide and I really think it will. They have tons of new features and the manufacturer has listened to it’s customers and done several things the way the customer wants it. It has an amazing sound output and amazing features. Even with all these new things they have still managed to keep the size down and even the weight has stayed pretty low. Play time of ~25 hours is amazing for a normal AA battery also makes this a good choice for people that travel and wants music. So what is bad ? What are we missing? Well the big problem is not having USB 2 support. A lot of people nowadays want the fast speed and it sure takes awhile to fill the player up-in my case 256 mb music. The headphones should have been somehow upgraded because the ones that you get suck and they do hurt your ears after awhile. These are two big flaws that lowers the grade abit. All in all though we give this player 4 out of 5 and a recommendation for a superb player with great sound and a amazing battery time and also not to forget those nice new features.

Pros:

+ Easy menus
+ Good sound output
+ Alot of features as FM transmitter
+ Good acessories
+ Good manual online
+ Very small
+ Amazing battery time
+ Good looking in general

Cons:

- Headphones suck that are included
- No USB 2!!
- No OGG Vorbis support

the “game” setting is used when gaming on the xbox or ps3, and since on the consoles the headset is forced to use its built-in sound card, there is a faint hissing when using it, which is why i presume you said it was awful… when using on the pc just keep it on “pc” mode
