Testing & Conclusion

Testing:

We used the following test equipment:

Intel Pentium Dual Core E6500
MSI P43 motherboard
Geforce 9800GT
500GB Seagate HDD
8 port 10/100 switch
5 port 10/100/1000 switch

Inei Technology I-NA312N1

We used HDtach to measure samba speed. In 10/100 network device performs quite well. Upload speeds around 8MB/s and download speeds around 10MB/s is the maximum you can expect to have in 10/100 network. FTP speeds are measured using uploading/downloading 8GB file to/from the device. Performance in FTP transfer is in par with samba performance.

We also decided to hook the device in gigalan environment. Upload speeds rose from 8MB/s to 16MB/s while download speeds encountered even larger boost being around 40MB/s. FTP transfer speeds once again are around the same with samba speeds.

Conclusion:

Without a doubt Ineo Technology has made an interesting device. Good performance combined with RAID-options and enormous amount of features including webserver, bittorrent client, and many others makes I-NA312N1 a perfect solution to be every home’s media server. I could recommend this product to everyone who is in need of a NAS-device and this is one of the rare ones which have been performing rock solid in my test sessions.
