Installation:
Installation in the Hover is even easier than in the Viper. Turn the unit upside down and remove the single screw holding down the large black arm that wraps around the top of the unit. Next, slide in the hard drive so that its connectors match up with those on the Hover and install a screw on the top to secure the drive to the Hover.

Push the black arm closed and replace the screw on the bottom that was removed earlier.

Finally, connect the USB and power cables, and installation is complete.
Testing:
Both units were connected to the test system individually, first using a USB connection and then with the eSATA connection. A direct connection to the motherboard’s SATA connection was used as the control. The hard drive being tested was a Western Digital Green Power 1TB WD10EACS (reviewed here). HD Tach 3.0.4.0, HD Tune 2.55 and ATTO Disk Benchmark 2.34 were used for testing.
Test System:
· Intel Core2Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHz
· Gigabyte x38-DQ6
· OCZ Vendetta 2 CPU Cooler
· OCZ Reaper PC2-9600 (2x1GB)
· Leadtek 8800GT 512MB
· Soundblaster X-FI Gamer
· OCZ GameXStream 700 watt
· Asus DVD-RW
· Western Digital WD5000AAKS
· Western Digital WD10EACS
· Windows XP Professional SP2

Both Hornettek units put up a strong showing, resulting in numbers very similar to each other. The results fall within the margin of error for the test.
