Hitachi 1TB Features….
SSD drives are starting to come in bigger sizes these days but they are still not available in terabytes and when they will be they will cost a fortune. Therefore SATA hard drives are still better when it comes to storage, Geeks.com sent us one of their Hitachi 1 TB “3.5 Internal SATA hard drives for a test. We are going to compare it vs another SATA drive and also vs a SSD drive to give you an idea of its performance. 1TB of space for 84,99$ is quite good though so lets check out the performance.

Nothing special about the packaging, the HDD comes well packed in a box full of foam as it’s very sensitive to bumps and drops and we all known alot of shipping companies have problems in this area. The HDD is also packed in a anti static bag to prevent static electricty from ruining the drive.
On the top they have placed the sticker with information about your drive. This is a 16Mb cache version while there are 32Mb ones on the market, so lets have a look at what speeds we can get.
