Hiper Typer R 580W power supply
We looked at a decent power supply from Hiper already before and today we have another one for you, it’s their modular power supply that really seems to be a quality product with 20.18A on the 12v rails for example. We will compare this as usual to the best power supplies we have reviewed before to see how this unit can perform.

This power supply is very well packed, you get a toolbox look alike that holds part of the cables on the top as seen on the right picture. You can close the box with the lock on the front of the box so you can carry the psu around as you want. Neccessary? Not really, but it’s a nice thing and it really shows that the company also put some effort into the package.

We all know by now that this is a modular power supply so you can choose which cables you need and connect them, which saves space in the case and gives it a better airflow. Something I found very neat is what you see on the right picture since you can connect a molex cable straight into the molex connectors on the PSU itself, this way you don’t need a bunch of “Y” splitters which also takes up alot of room. Included with this unit is of course a power cable and a manual.

This unit has a nice metallic blue color and the finish on it is like a mirror. The only cable connected from start is the ATX cable that is mounted inside the psu itself, you have both 20 and 24 pin connector on this unit so it works with older and newer motherboards. The fan inside the psu is in a nice chrome color to match the unit.

The connectors are covered with rubber covers to prevent dust coming into the connectors so you get maximal power transfer. There is also a 80 mm fan in the back of the PSU but both these fans are extremely quiet since you have to put your ear to them to be able to hear any noise.
