A couple of screenshots from the software will pretty much end this review and the software is pretty basic, the cd autostarts and leaves you with a few choices on what to do, installing the sytemdisk gives you the choice on where to install it as the picture shows. When installing the maps, you get to choose which maps, and voicefiles you want to install.
Conclusion:
It’s time for us to conclude this review and this is actually a hard one. This GPS has a few flaws that I have noticed while using it but it also holds some very cool features like movie player, music player, picture viewer etc. Now I do not have a price information on this device but I would be guessing around 350$ USD but that is my personal guess. The flaws on this unit is that I had to reset it a few times due to some weird software bugs and the low battery time. I talked to Globalsat about the battery and they say it’s not meant to last for long as it’s not a handheld device, therefore there is a car adapter included. Ok I can take that reasoning but I still think the battery should last more than 30 minutes. The GPS system is very accurate and found my position without any special settings, the voice commands are also good and the maps are updated and I hope they keep the map system updated for users.
The movie player allows you to watch movies on this also and that saves money as you don’t have to buy a a separate dvd player, just get a decent size memory card and run movies of that. Just remember that the movies have to be mpg or dat format. Overall this GPS boots up quite fast and finds your posititon without having to make any settings which is quite nice. I want to give this device a 4 out of 5 though for a cool new gps unit with some new features that will make your traveling alot faster.
