Conclusion

Overclocking:

For overclocking we used Rivatuner software version v2.0 RC 15,8. I was curious how this fanless cooler would be able to run an overclocked card. It has been stable on stock settings but I beleive we might have different results when its overclocked. So I started slowly moving up the mhz on the core and finally found it able to run at 580/700 mhz. Boosting up the core a bit more to ~750 locked the computer after a few minutes of 3dmark2005. We had the same story with the memory also, at stock speeds 635 mhz it ran fine but as soon as we got the memory up to ~700 the computer locked up completly after a few minutes of testing. I felt the heatsinks and I was near to burn my fingers when touching them so the conclusion is that the card can be overclocked a but with this cooler design , but if you add like a Zalman VF-700 CU gpu cooler you can actually go alot higher with the card and boost the performance.

Conclusion:

This is an excellent budget card, for ~150$ you get alot of performance. This card works great for HTPC cases since it has a fanless design. Overall I’m quite satisifed with the performance as it was what I expected it to be. If you don’t have the money for a more expensive card this is your choice. You can as we saw in the tests play the newest games without any problems or lag. The card does not overheat under stock speeds, but if you decide to overclock a bit you should buy and mount a gpu fan of somekind. I like the feature that this card is HDTV ready also by pushing a button on the videe out adapter. Overall I want to give this card 4 out of 5 and our recommendations for a card that gives good performance for a small amount of money. Remember that the card is not meant to be overclocked!

Pros:

+ Quiet
+ Good performance for a low price
+ Cheap
+ HDTV ready

Cons:

- Overheats under overclocking
