Gigabyte K8vnxp AMD64 board
Overclocking:
This processor was a loaner from AMD (Thank you AMD for lettings us bottow this) so we did not want to push it to far
We were able to go from 200 to 214 FSB with a stable processor on 1.65Vcore. This is pretty decent for a normal air cooling rig without any multiplier changes. I found out by a reader that if you push CTRL+F1 you get the overclocking menu which worked very nice
Thank you for the tip.
Conclusion:
I find this to be a very decent and fast board in performance. Accessory wise the board also offers alot. We could see that the AMD64 board really outperformed the XP setup we tested with and I believe that it’s almost time to change to AMD64 now as the new socket is coming out. If you are looking for a fast board that has tons of features this might be something for you. Gigabyte has always offered stabile board and this is no different from the others. I only found one flaw which was that the BIOS did not offer as much as I was hoping for in the overclocking features. We give this board 5 out of 5 though and a recommendation for a fast board that is very stable and comes with tons of features.
Pros:
+ Fast
+ Stable
+ Nice features
+ Well packed
+ Good accessories
Cons:
- Overclocking menu “hidden” (ctrl+F1 in bios to get it)
Red&Blackness gives it 5 out of 5 dots
