Gigabyte K8vnxp AMD64 board

Overclocking:

This processor was a loaner from AMD (Thank you AMD for lettings us bottow this) so we did not want to push it to far :) We were able to go from 200 to 214 FSB with a stable processor on 1.65Vcore. This is pretty decent for a normal air cooling rig without any multiplier changes. I found out by a reader that if you push CTRL+F1 you get the overclocking menu which worked very nice :) Thank you for the tip.

Conclusion:

I find this to be a very decent and fast board in performance. Accessory wise the board also offers alot. We could see that the AMD64 board really outperformed the XP setup we tested with and I believe that it’s almost time to change to AMD64 now as the new socket is coming out. If you are looking for a fast board that has tons of features this might be something for you. Gigabyte has always offered stabile board and this is no different from the others. I only found one flaw which was that the BIOS did not offer as much as I was hoping for in the overclocking features. We give this board 5 out of 5 though and a recommendation for a fast board that is very stable and comes with tons of features.

Pros:

+ Fast
+ Stable
+ Nice features
+ Well packed
+ Good accessories

Cons:

- Overclocking menu “hidden” (ctrl+F1 in bios to get it)

Red&Blackness gives it 5 out of 5 dots
