Corsair Hx 620W Power Supply

Corsair who are mostly known for their high quality ram have now released a new power supply to match up with the ram. Todays high speed ram sticks need a good power supply with stable rails to be able to overclock well and who would know this better than a memory manufacturer? Well this is what we are here testing, we will test this vs other high performing power supplies on the market and share our thoughts with you.

About Corsair:

Corsair has been a leader in the design and manufacture of high-speed modules since 1994. Our focus has always been on supporting the special demands of mission-critical servers and high-end workstations, as well as the performance demands of extreme gamers.

The first thing I noticed when I got this package is that it’s really heavy. From my experience heavy power supplies have performed best in our tests in the past. You get a 5 year warranty on this PSU which is very good, since shipping or other damage can take awhile to show.

The box the product came in is really nice, on the front is a picture of the unit and on the back a bunch of features and specifications.

Inside the box you will find that the cables are all packed in a small bag which can be used to store the remaining cables you won’t be using. You also get some manuals, screws and a small sticker to place on the front of the case.

As said earlier the sack works great as a storage case if you don’t use all the power cables. The PSU itself has a black and red theme (can’t complain :) . The 120 mm fan is a plain black fan instead of a LED fan as most manufacturers use in their units.
