Gaming, Movies and Conclusion
Some of the pictures don’t do the monitor justice as the camera was not able to keep up or really get the right colors. I have included a bunch of pictures to show you somewhat I mean with the back bleed at darker scenes.
The monitor picks up the colors very well and has no problems with fast movements either with HDMI or DVI.
As said the pictures dont do the screen justice in this case.
The main issue with LCD monitors has been the back bleed on black parts of the screen. This monitor has the same issue but its very minimal compared to other monitors. Its basically in the top and bottom middle. I would say its about 6-8 centimeters across the middle. The sides are completely black and nice but the top and the bottom need some work done on them.
We also ran Everest Monitor Diagnostics to see how it would handle colors and there were no problems during the test. Everything looked great and the bleed was not even there during the test, it seems to come up mainly in movies.
In gaming the display does not lag or have any color issues, I find it awesome to play on this monitor. Very crisp and clear picture and the size really makes it easier to game on when you can run higher resolutions. Same thing goes for working in Windows where you can run high resolutions and open up extra work space.
This is a very nice monitor with some nice and cool features like HDMI and speakers. I can find this at a few places here in Sweden and the price seems to be around 400$ USD which is not to bad. It’s about 100$ more than a Beng Full HD monitor at the same size but the question is what type of quality Benq can offer. I am very satisified with this monitor; the colors are and clear, and the picture very comfortable to view for longer periods. HDMI puts it ahead of alot of 24 inch monitors on the market and the speakers give you a nice sound boost if you lack speakers or don’t want to carry speakers to your LAN party. The back bleed problem is less than on most monitors we have looked at but the problem is still there and it can mainly be seen in movies. In games and normal windows usage it works great, now i’m not saying it looks bad in movies but the bleed is a tad annoying. The second con is the webcam software that wont work with Vista 64 bits which is quite annoying. Otherwise I am quite satisfied with this and would not hesitate to use it myself.
