Asus VK246H LCD Monitor Review

Our flat screens keep growing in size all the time and today a 22 inch monitor is almost standard for the normal user while the hardcore gamers are even higher up at 24 inch. Todays review will be on a 24 inch monitor from Asus. This new VK246H seems to be a good monitor on the paper with HDMI and 2 ms response time. It also has a built in webcam on the top and to finish the package it has a nice glossy black color. The question is though, how will it perform and will it have any back bleed?

Thermaltake DH104 HTPC Case Review

A case with a lcd screen built into it? That is something we have seen in the modding world but not something manufactured for the market. Thermaltake has found a solution to this problem and manufactured a case with a small LCD screen in the front of the HTPC case. This seems to be a nice solution for HTPC setups where you might end up needing a small display to do changes to the computer without having to turn the TV on. Lets have a closer look at this new case from Thermaltake which is named DH104.

Call of Duty - World at War - 360 Review

In the last couple of years there has been an abundance off WWII titles, and after doing a bit of research the fad about WWII does not look to be slowing down. Lets face it; war sells and part of me wants that a percentage from the profits to be donated to war veterans, but I seriously doubt it that gaming companies will be willing to share a small profit with the heroes that they exploit. From a WWII and a shooter perspective, Call of Duty - World at War is a successful game. The storyline itself is not very long, but this game's backbone lies with the multiplayer. Not only can you deathmatch this game online in multiple game modes such as capture the flag or free-for-all, but there is also a co-op campaign where you and your buddies can team up and bring justice, chaos and mayhem to the Axis forces. I need to do a review for Brothers in Arms as soon as possible

Futurelooks Holiday 2008 Guide to Third-Party Nintendo Wii Accessories

Growing up, I usually stayed away from third-party video game accessories, because the quality of these items paled in comparison to their first-party counterparts. This was true on the Super Nintendo, the PlayStation, and even as recently as the GameCube. Third-party manufacturers are quickly catching up, however, offering a wide range of video game accessories that are more affordable than the Nintendo-branded stuff. We’ve collected an assortment of third-party Nintendo Wii gaming accessories and, by and large, they’re pretty good.

VGA HD High Definition HDTV AV Cable for Xbox 360

"So today I've got a brief review for you of the VGA HD High Definition HDTV AV Cable for Xbox 360 that was provided by Budget Gadgets. I can't really test it like a piece of hardware or give you screenshots etc, but I can tell you that it works, and it works great and best of all it's inexpensive. Oh and they provided me with a discount code as well to share with our readers to use for anything on the site! "

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Xbox360

You got your Mortal Kombat in my DC Universe; you got your DC Universe in my Mortal Kombat! OK, anyone born after the eighties, probably will not get the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup reference, but it is certainly appropriate for this game. Taking a storied franchise as the DC Universe and pitting it against the Mortal Kombat world could make a great game or just a miserable experience. A game like this one could be easily made with no back story and be just a pure punch fest with new skins on Mortal Kombat style characters and sell plenty of copies to the comic/Mortal Kombat fanboys.

Nyko Wing Classic Controller for Nintendo Wii

These classic games don't play well (or at all) using Nintendo's new-fangled motion-sensitive controllers. You either have to use the ugly Gamecube controllers or Nintendo's Classic Controller extension for the Wiimote. There are a few glaring problems with the Classic Controller. For one: it isn't very ergonomic at all, and two: it is wired and must be tethered to the Wiimote.

Five Things to Love About the New Xbox 360 Experience

It’s hard to believe that the Xbox 360 was launched way back in 2005. It was pushed out a full year ahead of the system’s HD gaming competitor, the Sony PlayStation 3 which was followed shortly by the Nintendo Wii. For this reason, the Xbox 360 is also the one that is experiencing a midlife crisis sooner than its counterparts. In an effort to breathe new life into the reigning hardcore gaming console of choice, Microsoft recently unleashed a new interface known as the New Xbox Experience or NXE for short.

When you are stuffed into cramped quarters, there’s a good chance that your computer also has to pull double duty as your television. Naturally, not all computers come with a built-in TV tuner, so you may have to consider external options like the recently released COMPRO Vista U890F TV Stick.

ASUS EN9800GT Matrix 512MB Review

The 9800 GT does not OFFICIALLY support 3-Way SLI even though the card sports the necessary SLI connection for it. The answer from ASUS is that because the 9800 GT Matrix shares some manufacturing options with other cards, the connectors were left on for easy transition. If someone were so inclined, they could likely modify the firmware in such a way to activate that second SLI connector and perhaps get a set of 9800 GTs working together."

Cooler Master HAF 932 Case Review

This is one of those few times when you'll hear me say it: Get this product! Though it requires a spot of its very own in the room, and tends to be quite on the heavy side, this case manages to move a LOT of air in near silence (if the sound of air moving doesn't bother you).”

: Back at the end of April, I took a look at the NorthQ Siberian Tiger water cooling kit. Today we are taking a look at the Siberian Tiger II water cooling kit, which is the bigger brother due to its use of a 240mm radiator compared to the little brothers 120mm radiator. MSI Wind U100 Netbook - Tested and Burned In

Since the MSI Wind's initial release seven months ago, the middle of the netbook market, roughly defined here as the $350-$500 range, has become very crowded. It seems like everyone and their subsidiary is getting into the netbook game and there are now dozens of models and submodels vying for your money, with even more product launches right around the corner. In this suddenly crowded niche market, is the MSI Wind still a good choice, or has it fallen behind the competition?

Don't get us wrong. We're not saying that MSI has been standing still this whole time. On the contrary, the folks at MSI have been cooking up a number of new netbook products, as we'll certainly see at CES this week. MSI has also released a cheaper 8.9" version of the Wind, the U90, which is currently available in parts of Europe, Australia and Canada. However, at least for the time being, the original MSI Wind, now dubbed the Wind U100, is still the only MSI netbook officially sold in the US.

Today we're going to pit it head-to-head with a couple of its younger competitors to see if can keep up with the mass of new competition.

Western Digital MyBook Studio 2 Review

" Western Digital makes some excellent products and relatively recently, it pushed very hard into the external storage market. When I asked about if they are worried about the impending SSD emerging market, there was really no big worry, yet. Even so, hard drives are their bread and butter and solutions exists for nearly every segment of the market. I always say how important it is to have a backup solution and the My Book Studio Edition II aims to fit that bill with ease. "

Microlab MD332-2.1 iPod Audio Docking Station Review

"The emergence of the iPod being the most popular MP3 player out there means there are tons of third-party companies not wanting to be left out in the still glowing market. Literally there are tons of iPod accessories and iPod speaker systems out there that it’s sometimes really hard to gauge how good a certain product really is. Well we’re here to let you in on a high-end iPod speaker system coming from Microlab. Microlab is a name ModSynergy knows personally since I had reviewed their wonderful SOLO-6 speaker system in the past. Not wanting to be left out in the growing iPod market, Microlab has introduced that they will be releasing their iPod speaker system in North America, specifically made for the iPod (with support for the new iPhone) dubbed the Microlab MD332. Microlab will be present at this year’s Macworld Expo 2009 (January 5-9)."

Pinnacle Video Transfer Reviewed

" Pinnacle has sent me over their Video Transfer product for review, it allows the user to simply and easily transfer videos from numerous sources and store them on a portable hard drive, flash drive, iPod or even a PSP. It encodes in MPEG-4 format so the end results will be playable on most devices, and you can even select from three different quality settings as well. The great thing about this device is that it does not use your PC, it's a stand alone unit, you plug your source video into on end, your storage device into the other, hit record and walk away, no fuss, very simple and easy to do."

Viewsonic's VX2260WM, 22-inch Full HD monitor

In truth, it's the sort of visual faux pas you usually have to try very hard to spot, but just occasionally it can throw up distracting artefacts along the edges of moving objects, particularly in games. Still the good news with the VX2260WM is that you have the option of turning Ultra Fast mode off if it is giving you gyp. The Advanced mode is still extremely rapid and suffers from no visual artefacts.

So, Viewsonic's first foray into the 1080p 22-inch segment is pretty solid. It's certainly one of the better TN panels we have seen, it just pips Iiyama's slightly cheaper model for image quality and physical desirability and adds a few useful features, including HDMI, to boot. More importantly, that 1080p native resolution looks fantastic on a 22-inch panel, delivering eye-popping detail along with generous desktop real estate. Is it worth the extra £20 over the Iiyama? In a word, yes.

MSI Radeon HD 4830 512MB OC Edition Graphics Card

: "I have to admit that until the HD 4830 arrived on my door step I really hadn’t heard of it; a bit like what happened to NVIDIA a while back when everyone was more interested in seeing what ATI was doing with the new HD 4800 series. Now the tables have turned and everyone is paying more attention to the new NVIDIA cards due out rather than what ATI is doing at the moment. The HD 4830 is the latest card to enter the HD 4800 series line-up and is the lowest of the bunch. The thing is, though, I really do wonder how much lower it is than the HD 4850, which is one of the best valued cards on the market to date."
